No Stranger

In an unmeasured but accurate distance,

The little bird perched.

Everyday upon the cable, she sat in slumber,

Spending her cold nights immobile.

An unspoken bond,

And an uncaring look,

Is all we shared,

For I never offered her anything

Nor did she look expecting.

All of a sudden she left one night,

Unmindful of me missing her sight.

Bittersweet was the farewell,

To her, the lone wanderer, may be a reunion.

Surprised was I the next day,

To find her back at her same broody spot.

Oh, she seem to be wanting me back,

Or so I thought.
